Each iteration of Wander is composed of hundreds of individual turmeric anthotypes, each featuring a small treasure collected from a particular location. Turmeric is a fugitive material and each image will eventually fade away as it is exposed to sunlight.
Visitors are encouraged to take one of the prints, reflecting on the temporal nature of our surroundings. Over the course of the installation the entire piece disappears — through the fading of the images and their dispersal through the viewers. Each new version of the piece includes a letterpress-printed message encouraging viewers to be present to the magic of the natural world.
